Recent work: Langlois- E'teveaneux cottage lightboxes
In the 1960s this 1840 cottage was made over as a static museum display, with two large picture windows installed for viewing along its back wall. These were recently removed and the wall made good (by others), and we were contracted to design build and install the light boxes to tell the social and architectural history of the building. What Clients say:
Dr Andrea Farminer, Origin Consultants Ltd
“All five reports [are] very well thought through, detailed and comprehensive, so thank you for understanding the complexities of the project so well and being able to convey these in a readable and sensible format.”
Terri Elder, Teece Museum of Classical Antiquities
" There was a considerable challenge involved in working with our requirements for the care of the collection, as well as having to take into account the heritage requirements for the building. Without doubt, the exhibition team rose to the challenge, and the final product made the most of the quirks of the heritage building where possible, but still allowing the exhibition to take centre stage. We were especially pleased that the cases and mounts developed ensure we are able to provide an environment that really cares for our artefacts, and gives us flexibility for the future. This is something we are especially conscious of in Christchurch, where the impact of the earthquakes still resonates deeply. We were also grateful that Sally and Jeff worked so hard to be innovative and imaginative with materials and design elements, so that we could achieve the maximum impact for our budget. The exhibition truly looks beautiful, and we are delighted with the result. "
Ian Cameron, Havelock Museum
“The exhibits have been displayed with a great deal of thought and the visitor is lead from one aspect of Havelock early life to another in an easily assimilated progression.
Jackie Gurden - Gurden Consulting Ltd
“Sally is able to pick up a theme, research it and come up with some outstanding ways to present the stories that link to an object or theme that will engage visitors.
I have very much enjoyed working with Sally. She is very creative, highly amenable, has a huge range of talented contacts to help her design solutions and products, she works well to timeframes and the end results hit the mark in terms of appropriateness. I highly recommend Sally to anyone looking at contracting work to her.”
Steve Austin, Marlborough Museum
“Sally has always delivered what was required with a special creativity, and interesting angle, that impresses. She is quick to see the alternative points of view, and possibilities, with regard for practical implementation, and execution. She is quick to support innovations that have a clear purpose, and I recommend her to potential clients (used to having the expertise of professional designer), as well as anyone who would like to access such services for the first time.”
